Worship Service Scriptures

Responsive Reading - Inspired by Psalm 52

We come together to praise the steadfast love of God!
Gathered, we lift our hearts in thanksgiving,
Look! See what God has done!
When we look, we see God’s good works.
So, remembering all that God is accomplishing,
We proclaim “God’s work is a blessing,
God’s name is GOOD!”
Let’s lift our voices to praise God.

Old Testament Scripture - Jeremiah 33:14-16 (Easy to Read Version)

This message is from the LORD: "I made a special promise to the people of Israel and Judah. The time is coming when I will do what I promised. At that time I will make a good 'branch' grow from David's family. That branch will do what is good and right for the country. When he rules, Judah will be saved. The people of Jerusalem will live in safety. This will be his name: 'The LORD Makes Things Right For Us.'"

New Testament Scripture - Acts 3:17-21 (Easy to Read Version)

"My brothers, I know that what you did to Jesus was done because you did not understand what you were doing. And your leaders did not understand any more than you did. But God said these things would happen. Through the prophets he said that his Messiah would suffer and die. I have told you how God made this happen. So you must change your hearts and lives. Come back to God, and he will forgive your sins. Then the Lord will give you times of spiritual rest. He will send you Jesus, the one he chose to be the Messiah. "But Jesus must stay in heaven until the time when all things will be made right again. God told about this time when he spoke long ago through his holy prophets.

When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no more wine." "Woman, why do you involve me?" Jesus replied. "My hour has not yet come."
